Industrial Architectural Drama
The industrial consists of two helix piercings connected by a single straight barbell — a bold, architectural statement that defines the entire ear in one placement.

How We
Approach This
The industrial requires two precisely aligned piercings — typically forward helix and standard helix — positioned such that a straight barbell passes cleanly between them at the correct angle. Alignment is critical: even a few degrees of misalignment will result in the barbell pulling on one or both piercings throughout healing. We take time to map the exact angle of the barbell across your specific ear anatomy before placing a single mark.
Angle Mapping Critical
Both piercing points must be mapped together — the barbell's angle across your ear determines placement of both entry and exit holes.
Anatomy Not Always Suitable
Some ear shapes cannot accommodate an industrial comfortably. We check this in consultation before any commitment is made.
Longest Ear Healing
Two healing piercings sharing one piece of jewelry means double the healing complexity and time required.
Step by Step
A transparent, clinical process — no surprises.

Bilateral Angle Planning
We lay the barbell against your ear externally to map the natural angle across your helix. Both entry points are marked in a single session.
- Sterile single-use needle
- Client-approved marking
- Implant-grade starter jewelry

First Piercing — Forward
The forward helix entry is pierced first with the barbell or a receiving needle, establishing the angle for the second.
- Sterile single-use needle
- Client-approved marking
- Implant-grade starter jewelry

Second Piercing & Bar Through
The standard helix entry is pierced, and the titanium industrial bar is threaded through both piercings simultaneously. Ball ends are secured.
- Sterile single-use needle
- Client-approved marking
- Implant-grade starter jewelry
What We
Put In You
We exclusively use implant-grade materials. Below are the typical starter jewelry options for your Industrial piercing.
Healing Instructions
- Saline spray both piercings twice daily — spray at both ends of the bar
- Do not sleep on the pierced ear — ever, during the entire healing period
- Avoid any pressure on the bar — resting your hand against your ear counts
- Be extremely cautious with hair — long hair can catch the bar and cause tearing
- Wear hair up or protected near the piercing during all of healing
- Do not touch, rotate, or adjust the barbell at any time
- Mandatory downsize and check at 3 months — both holes assessed separately
Industrial FAQ
Is my ear the right shape for an industrial?
We check this at consultation. A suitable ear needs a clear, straight path across the outer helix without major cartilage obstructions.
Can I wear my hair down during healing?
We strongly advise wearing hair up or secured away from the ear throughout the full 9–12 month healing period.
What if one side gets irritated but not the other?
This is common and typically caused by the bar angling under pressure. Contact us immediately — we can assess and adjust jewelry if needed.
